Dr. Leslie Shaw is a Professor of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. He helped to develop the Alzheimer’s Disease Neuroimaging Initiative (ADNI), one of the world’s largest public-private research partnerships that aim to detect Alzheimer’s as early as possible and advance research in the prevention and treatment of the disease.

His work focuses on standardising methods to measure Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease biomarkers. In recognition of his contributions, Dr. Shaw received the Outstanding Lifetime Achievement Award in Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine from the American Association for Clinical Chemistry in 2013.
