Named a “Rock Star of Science” in a GQ magazine feature in 2010, Dr. Eric Reiman is a renowned leader in brain imaging research.

Dr. Reiman co-founded the Banner Alzheimer’s Institute, an organization that aims to find preventive measures and establishes new standards in dementia care, in 2006. He also worked with the US National Institute on Aging to develop the Alzheimer's Disease Genetics Consortium, and also established the Arizona Alzheimer's Consortium to push further research into Alzheimer's disease in the state. His work has consistently broken new ground in Alzheimer’s research, such as in using brain imaging tools to track the progression of the disease.

“With the advent of new technologies and big-data analysis methods, we can now generate detailed information about genes that are differentially expressed in individual brain cells and their relationship to inherited genes; use these data to explore the molecular networks involved in the development of Alzheimer’s disease; and provide molecular targets at which to aim new treatments.”
