Surrounding ourselves with positive, supportive people can have such a big impact on our lives. That supportive network gives us energy and strength when we need it and it gives us courage and inspiration to overcome the challenges that we face. When the supportive people in our life have faced many of the challenges we’ve faced and have walked a mile in our shoes, their ability to shed sunshine on our rainy days becomes so much stronger.
Having a chronic autoimmune disease such as Crohn’s or ulcerative colitis serves us up situations in life that most people don’t understand. That’s why it’s so important to have a few people in our support network who have Crohn’s or ulcerative colitis.
